HUSSMANN – Philosophy
There is something perfect about a finished profile roller. With its immaculately polished elegance, heavy steel weight and sublime precision, it underlines its importance long before it is even used for its intended purpose in sheet metal processing. There, our roller enables the manufacture of products of the highest quality by giving steel sheets their final shape.
A shape that has long been inherent in the profile roll before it is even installed in the roll forming machine.
A shape that becomes visible piece by piece on our production line, from station to station and from employee to employee.
On its way to micrometer precision, the profile roll passes through many hands and machines. At every single step, it experiences the best that an experienced metal working company like Hussmann has to offer.
The most efficient machines, the most experienced skilled workers and uncompromising quality control. At the end of this road, the Hussmann roll has the hardness and precision that makes it a relentless shaper in cold roll forming. Many hundreds of thousands of rollers have gone through this process in Hussmann's 80-year history.
And yet every new roll retains something unique for us at Hussmann.
HUSSMANN - Impressions
HUSSMANN history
From a one-man business to a leading specialist manufacturer
Heinrich Hussmann founds the family business “Dreherei und Schlosserei Hussmann” and produces with a single lathe in the laundry room of his parents' house.
In the early days, forming tools such as forging dies were produced for the domestic chain industry, but the company increasingly specialized in the production of profile rollers for roll forming for the surrounding cold rolling industry.
The company is now already producing with seven lathes, a saw, a planer and four bench grinders in a very cramped space of just 80 square meters behind the residential building.
The new 450 square meter production hall at the current location is occupied and enables the consistent further development of the family business.
The first computers are introduced and revolutionize work with machine tools.
With the advent of new technologies, the management of the company passes from founder Heinrich Hussmann to his son Hermann Hussmann.
An extension to the existing hall is urgently needed to meet the increasing demand for profile rolls.
The neighboring property was acquired, and the office, warehouse and production space with social rooms was expanded to 1,800 sqm.
Christoph Hussmann is now the third generation of the family to manage the company after apprenticed as a lathe operator, successfully completing a degree in mechanical engineering and then studying industrial engineering and business administration.
